PART-TIME DANCE INSTRUCTOR
Starting September 2018
QBSC is seeking a part-time teacher for the recreational after-school program. Hours are from approximately 4:30pm to 8:30pm for 2 to 3 evenings per week. Possible Saturday mornings.
The preferred candidate enjoys working with young children and has experience in instructing pre-ballet and ballet for the younger levels. Possible work with beginner adult ballet students. RAD experience/certification an asset.

Quinte Ballet Invites Applications for Summer Dance positions
Quinte Ballet School of Canada invites applications for the Residence Coordinator (May 28-July 21), Head Counsellor (June 18-July 27) and Counsellors (June 29-July 21) in Belleville.
Quinte Ballet School of Canada (QBSC) is committed to teach, promote and present the joy of dance at both the professional and recreational levels. Faculty and staff are dedicated to creating an inspiring and supportive environment that nurtures young people. Each summer over 100 youth aged 10 to 17 receive over 60 hours of training at our Summer Dance Intensive program.Out of town students are housed in Albert College residences.
SUMMER DANCE RESIDENCE COORDINATOR
The Summer Dance Residence Coordinator oversees counsellor training, scheduling & planning of residence activities, communicates with parents about residence issues and supports the day-to-day needs of students aged 10 to 17 living in residence who are attending the Quinte Ballet School’s 3 week Summer Dance Intensive Program. The Summer Dance Residence Coordinator lives in residence for 3 weeks with the students and counsellors and actively participates in all residence programs. Accommodation and meals for 3 weeks will be provided at Albert College. This is an 8 week contract from May 28 to July 21, 2018 with variable hours including evenings and weekends, paying $620 per week. Deadline for applications: April 6, 2018.
The Head Counsellor supervises and supports a team of Counsellors who are the primary care providers, activity leaders and mentors to students attending Quinte Ballet’s 3 week Summer Dance Intensive program. The Head Counsellor lives in residence for 3 weeks with the students and counsellors and actively participates in all residence programs. Accommodation and meals for 3 weeks will be provided at Albert College. This is a 6 week contract from June 18 to July 27, 2018 with variable hours including evenings and weekends, paying $590 per week. Deadline for applications: April 6, 2018.
SUMMER DANCE COUNSELLOR POSITIONS
The Quinte Ballet School of Canada is seeking, mature, energetic and responsible young adults (age 18-25) to be live-in counsellors from June 29 – July 21, 2018. As a counsellor for our summer dance program, you will be responsible to help supervise a group of students ages 10-17 in a residential campus setting. We are looking for individuals who can be strong leaders, with a sense of fun, and with excellent interpersonal skills. Accommodation and meals for 3 weeks will be provided at Albert College. This position with variable hours including evenings and weekends pays $560 per week. Deadline for applications: April 20, 2018.
For these 3 positions, preference is given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in dance, first aid training, experience working with youth and are returning to school full-time in Fall 2018. BOARD OF DIRECTORS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
The Board of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada is seeking individuals with an appreciation of the arts. The QBSC Board govern this not-for-profit corporation with charitable status to effectively and efficiently fulfill the QBSC mandate and vision.
- Applicants should have a diverse range of community and professional experience as well as an understanding of governance, strategic thinking, sound business/risk management and financial literacy. Fund development and/or marketing are an asset.
- Board members are volunteers, elected for 3-year terms. Applicants must commit to preparing for, and attending, monthly meetings and serving on committees. A current criminal records check/vulnerable sector screening is required. A time commitment of 3-5 hours per month is generally required.
- Parents/guardians of students and family members of staff are ineligible to serve on the Board however may volunteer on committees.

QBSC is a non-profit organization and functions with a small, full-time administrative staff. At certain times during the school year, especially in the weeks leading up to our three annual performances, our reliance on the assistance of committed volunteers is critical.
