QUINTE BALLET SCHOOL OF CANADA is seeking employees for Summer Dance Intensive, 2024.

Quinte Ballet School of Canada invites applications Summer Dance Counsellors (SDI dates June 30-July 19, 2024) in Belleville.

 Quinte Ballet School of Canada (QBSC) is committed to teach, promote, and present the joy of dance at both the professional and recreational levels. Faculty and staff are dedicated to creating an inspiring and supportive environment that nurtures young people. Each summer youth aged 10 to 17 receive over 60 hours of training at our Summer Dance Intensive program in Belleville. Out of town students are housed in Albert College residences.

SUMMER DANCE COUNSELLOR POSITIONS

The Quinte Ballet School of Canada is seeking, mature, energetic, and responsible young adults (age 18-25) to be live-in counsellors from June 28 – July 20, 2024.  As a counsellor for our summer dance program, you will be responsible to help supervise a group of students ages 10-17 in a residential campus setting. We are looking for individuals who can be strong leaders, with a sense of fun, and with excellent interpersonal skills. Accommodation and meals for three weeks will be provided at Albert College. This is a 3.5-week contract with variable hours including evenings and weekends that pays $640 per week. Deadline for applications: April 12, 2024.

HEAD COUNSELLOR

The Head Counsellor supervises and supports a team of Counsellors who are the primary care providers, activity leaders and mentors to students attending Quinte Ballet’s three-week Summer Dance Intensive program. The Head Counsellor lives in residence for three weeks with the students and counsellors and actively participates in all residence programs. Accommodation and meals for three weeks will be provided at Albert College. This is a five-week contract from June 26 to July 28, 2023, with variable hours including evenings and weekends that pays $650 per week. Deadline for applications: April 12, 2024.

For these two positions, preference is given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in dance, first aid training, experience working with youth and are returning to school full-time in Fall 2023. VOLUNTEERS

QBSC is a non-profit organization and functions with a small, full-time administrative staff.  At certain times during the school year, especially in the weeks leading up to our three annual performances, our reliance on the assistance of committed volunteers is critical.  We welcome dynamic volunteers of all backgrounds to provide support in a variety of positions. Opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Ushering
  • Wardrobe and Sewing
  • Special Events
  • Poster and Brochure Distribution
