The academic needs for Quinte Ballet School of Canada students are met by the Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board. QBSC staff, in close coordination with the academic schools involved, has developed and implemented an academic program for the students that allows for attendance at daytime dance classes. Students enrolled in elementary school attend Sir Mackenzie Bowell (SMB). High School students attend Centennial Secondary School (CSS).
SMB serves students in grades 6, 7 and 8. SMB offers a caring school environment in which students are provided with numerous opportunities to realize and achieve their potential for success. SMB focuses on the shared common values of respect and responsibility and has collaboratively established school-wide Respect Agreements which outline the respectful ways all members of the SMB community agree to interact, communicate, make decisions, and go about their daily activities. Sir Mackenzie Bowell
CSS is the Regional Centre for the Visual and Performing Arts in the Quinte region. This provides an excellent environment for our full-time professional dance students to attend CSS and work alongside other like-minded students in an exceptionally supportive environment. CSS is also located directly beside QBSC, just steps away. Centennial Secondary School
Over the past several years, QBSC has benefited from a cooperative relationship with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and its International Student Program (ISP). While on excursions to Europe, Russia, Mexico, South America, and South East Asia each year, recruiters from the local School Board also actively promote QBSC programs to high school students who are interested in continuing their academic and dance training at CSS/QBSC.
In addition to the QBSC tuition fees, students must pay a fee to the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. Please visit the ISP website for further information and application details.
