Don't Wait in the Wings

Students of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada have a busy performing schedule from September to July, offering plenty of opportunities to perform in a wide variety of settings. Two of the most important educational activities are our performances held each winter and spring.  Learning a broad spectrum of repertoire and choreographic styles is an important part of the students’ education, such as:

  • Classical Ballet Repertoire
  • Contemporary Ballet
  • Contemporary Dance
  • Improvisation
  • Jazz
  • National Dance
  • Hip Hop

Holiday Performance

A highlight of the year comes when QBSC mounts its Holiday production. This production takes place typically in Belleville at the Empire Theatre and runs at the beginning of December.

Spring Showcase

Spring Showcase is always an exciting time for the students as they have the opportunity to work with both choreographers and teachers on a mixed program of various repertoire and new choreography. These popular performances showcase the professional students as the culmination of their year’s work comes to fruition.

Summer Dance Performance

The Summer Dance program is yet another opportunity for the professional students and visiting Summer Dance students to be showcased.  The dancers perform at the end of July and present all they have learned throughout the month.

Repertoire

Throughout QBSC's history, the staff and students have had the honour and privilege to work with esteemed choreographers and repetiteurs from home and abroad.  QBSC provides the opportunity to have choreography created on the students and to learn how to participate in the creative process with a professional choreographer. The School has contacts with some of the most innovative and current teachers and choreographers today.
