For over 50 years, the Quinte Ballet School of Canada has been training young dancers from across the country in an environment that fosters excellence, discipline, and creativity. Our Professional Training Program prepares aspiring dancers for professional careers, while our Assemblé dance program offers high-quality recreational dance education to students of all ages.
Position Overview
QBSC is seeking an experienced and passionate Ballet and National Dance Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will teach students in both the Professional Training Program and the Assemblé recreational program, fostering strong technical foundations, artistry, and a love of dance.
Responsibilities

Teach classical ballet and national dance classes across a range of levels, from junior to senior students.

Support the artistic vision and curriculum of the Professional Training and Assemblé programs.

Prepare students for performances, assessments, and examinations.

Collaborate with the Artistic Director and faculty to ensure consistency of training and progression.

Provide mentorship and encouragement to students, fostering a positive and professional studio environment.

Participate in rehearsals, productions, and school events as required.
Qualifications
-
Professional training in classical ballet and national dance; recognized teaching certification or equivalent experience preferred (e.g., RAD, Cecchetti, Vaganova, etc.).

Strong knowledge of technique, artistry, and musicality, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience staging choreography or teaching performance repertoire is an asset.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

QBSC is a non-profit organization and functions with a small, full-time administrative staff. At certain times during the school year, especially in the weeks leading up to our three annual performances, our reliance on the assistance of committed volunteers is critical. We welcome dynamic volunteers of all backgrounds to provide support in a variety of positions. Opportunities are available in the following areas:
