AUDITION & MASTERCLASS FEES

Acceptance to the full-time (September to June) Professional Training Program (PTP), is through the two-step process. Step 1 is an audition for the Summer Dance Intensive (SDI). Auditions are held at various locations starting in the fall. With an acceptance into the SDI, students are then being considered for the full time program. Step 2 of the audition process is the 3-week SDI, where students are evaluated in all classes to be considered for the full time PTP.

AUDITION

Step One … Audition and acceptance into the Summer Dance Intensive (SDI). Auditions can be done in person at one of our audition locations, by Zoom during scheduled virtual auditions, by video, or in person at QBSC. In person auditions at QBSC can be arranged only if students are not able to attend an audition location, arranged on an individual basis. Private Zoom auditions can also be arranged.
Step Two … Attend Summer Dance Intensive – students will be monitored and accepted based on ability

AGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Students must currently be in Grades 6-12 to audition. QBSC’s full time Professional Training Program is for students in academic Grades 7-12. Students must have a minimum of 2 years of training in ballet technique, and actively studying dance. For students 15 years and older, experience in pointe work is an asset.

REGISTRATION
All students must pre-register online prior to auditioning at a location schedule on our Audition Tour. Payment is required at time of registration. A photo of your student in a tendue à la second with arms in second position must accompany the registration form. Participants should arrive 30 minutes prior to audition time to finalize registration details. Video and DVD submissions require a completed registration with photo.

AUDITION FEE
A non-refundable $50 Audition Fee is due at time of registration for Audition Tour locations, and with any online or DVD audition submission. All fees are payable by cash, cheque, VISA or Mastercard, and must be paid in advance.

MASTERCLASS

Masterclasses are open to students in Grades 8-12.

A non-refundable $30 Masterclass Fee is due at time of registration. All fees are payable by cash, cheque, VISA or Mastercard, and must be paid in advance.

IF REGISTERING FOR BOTH AUDITION AND MASTERCLASS THE FEE IS $60

DRESS CODE – For both Auditions and Masterclasses
Girls: Dark coloured leotard / pink tights / soft ballet shoes / hair bun or pinned close to head
* Students with pointe experience – bring pointe shoes
Boys: Black tights or shorts / white t-shirt / socks / soft ballet shoes

AUDITIONS BY DVD OR ONLINE VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

The deadline for receiving DVD auditions is May 31, 2025.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

SDI: email notification within a few weeks after an audition has been reviewed.

Full-Time PTP: Decisions and notifications are made during the final week of SDI.
